How to drink more water | 8 Tips
We all know it’s important to drink a lot of water. It has so many beauty and health benefits that it’s hard to avoid. I really notice that my skin is so much better on days when I drink a lot. Here are some some tips to drink more.
Health benefits of drinking water
- Keep your body working
Water is very important to actually keep your body working because our body is for 60% water. Some examples are that it helps with keeping our body temperature on a good level and it helps with digestion.
- Weight loss
Most drinks contain a lot of sugar. Water doesn’t directly have effect on weight loss but replacing those bad drinks with it can really help. When you drink a lot you will also often eat less.
- Beautiful Skin
When you don’t drink enough your skin will look more dry and wrinkled.
A while ago the story of Sarah Smith showed up on the internet. Sarah Smith is a woman in her 40’s. She tested what would happen if she would triple the amount of water she normally drinks. To test it she drank 3 liters of water every day for a month and here are the results. Her face looks so much younger!
Tips to drink more water
- Have a drink with every meal
This way the food you eat will be washed away easily and you will eat less.
- Carry a bottle or cup with you
This way you will easily grab it instead of buying a soda, this can also save you a lot of money. When at home I love to keep a big cup with me like in the photo above, that one I got from H&M.
- Eat fruit and vegetables
Fruit and vegetables contain a lot of water and who doesn’t like fruit? Did you know that about 20% of our water intake is from fruit if you eat it twice a day?
- Eat some spicy food
After spicy food most people drink more.
- Drink some tea
I personally love tea and like it way more so I drink a lot of tea every day.
- Make some popsicles
Who doesn’t love popsicles in the summer? Why not make your own by adding water and fruit like this recipe.
- Add some fruit

- Set a daily goal
If your having a lot of trouble drinking enough you can set a daily goal. There are a lot of apps that you can use to register how much you drink. One of those is Plant Nanny that I showed below.
Water with fruit?
Bored of plain water? You can add some fruit to your bottle to make it a little more tasteful. This is easier if you have a bottle that has a container for fruit or if you have a bottle with a big bottle opening so you can easily take the fruit out after. You can use all kinds of fruit from strawberry’s to lemon.
